1. Tortilla Joe's. There are three things that sell me over on this place because I feel like the food is average Mexican food. First, the free and endless amounts of chips and salsa. Second, the portions are big enough to share. Third, depending on the whether it is a good place to cool down in the summer or warm up in the winter.
2. Earl of Sandwich. We stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel and just out of convience we stopped in for breakfast sandwiches that we could eat on our way to the park. I had only been there for dinner, but the breakfast sandwiches were pretty good! The ingredients were really fresh and the sandwich was warm.
3. Ghirardelli Square. This is one of my favorite places to go when we are in San Fransisco and I think it's really fun that California Adventure has a 'mini Ghirardelli Square'. I have so many favorites from their sea salt hot cocoa to the variety of sundae's. This time Adam and I decided to try the Quake shake with mint Ghirardelli bars. The shake has Ghirardelli chocolate bars infused in the shake. It's so yummy. I had a hot chocolate because it was raining and cold while we were at the park. There is nothing better than a churro and hot chocolate combination.
4. The Pizza Press. THIS IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET. This little pizza joint is outside the park on the opposite side of Downtown Disney. It's about a 2-3 minuet walk outside the park. The Pizza Press is a build your own pizza style. Prices for pizza's range from $10-$12, which is so nice to leave all the expensive food that is inside the park. All ingredients are fresh and so tasty. The building is small and does not have a lot of seating but they are expanding the restaurants.
5. The Blue Bayou. We ate at the Blue Bayou this time because Cafe Orleans was not taking reservations. Cafe Orleans is my very favorite because they have the Pommes Frites and Monte Cristo. However, I did try the Mint Julep and fell in love. Blue Bayou also has the Monte Cristo sandwich, so it was a win-win. Disney changed the flavoring on the Mint Julep and Adam thinks that it tastes like Orbit gum. I loved it, it has such a fresh flavor to it.
6. Other favorite treats and snacks. We love the typical Dole whip, churros, turkey leg, Mickey pretzels, clam chowder from Boudin in California Adventure, matterhorn macaroons, and ice cream on the pier of California Adventure.
